Our Frontline Tour starts in Ypres. After exploring the area around Ypres, visiting sites
and locations unique to this tour, with a special stop or two along the way, we’ll arrive
back in Ypres and check in to our hotel for the night - the 4 star Ariane Hotel.
IntheeveningtherewillbetimetowanderaroundYpresbeforeashortwalkto attendtheLastPostCeremonyattheMeninGate.Afterwards,we’llhaveagroup mealinaverynicerestaurantadjacenttothesquare-agreatopportunitytorelax andmeetyourfellowtravellers.Thisisofcourseoptional-allowapprox€35ppplus drinks.Onthesecondday,we’llheadSouthtowardsArras,againstoppingatsomespecial placesalongtheway.Onarrivalin Arras,wewillcheckyouintoyourhotel,theIbis, whichisaoneminutewalktothefamousGrandPlace.Youcanwanderaroundthe square at your leisure and take in some of the various entertainments on offer. OnSundaymorning,afterahealthybreakfast,wecontinuethetour.Whilstwe’lldrive throughtheBattlefieldareasoftheSommeandArras,coveredindepthonother tours,thistourwilltakeaverydifferentroute...alongwiththeusualexpert commentary via CB radio.The tour will end at approximately 3pm, on the outskirts of Albert Please note there are very few driveable ‘green lanes’ in Belgium, so the off-road sections will be minimal on the first day.
Over three days we will give you an insight from a different perspective of this famous
battlefield, travelling in a small convoy of 5-6 vehicles, on tracks once trod by infantry.
You’ll receive CB commentary as we drive along our route so you can really get a
sense of where troops came from and what their objectives were.

public. One night will be spent in
the IBIS hotel in the centre of
Arras, literally a stone’s throw from
the market. The other night will be
spent in the 4-star Ariane hotel in
Ypres where we will take in the
Last Post ceremony at the Menin
In addition to our normal tours, this special
tour will include:
Two night’s accommodation in a twin bedded
room on a bed and breakfast basis - first night
in the 4-star Ariane Hotel in Ypres and the
second night in an Ibis hotel.
An optional three course meal with wine on the
first evening, in a restaurant adjacent to the
Menin Gate. Allow around €35pp
We will attend the Last Post ceremony at the
Menin Gate. Afterwards you are free to do as
you wish - eat and shop in the market and take
in some of the multitude of entertainments on
Visits to sights not generally available to the
general public. Bring a torch!
