Based in Albert, this three day battlefield tour will take you back to 1916, visiting some of the most significant sites that were to influence the battle for the armies of both sides. Our tour starts from the historical town of Albert, a place in which soldiers of 1916 were billeted just behind the British lines. Most visitors travel around the battlefields by car or bus; however, on our tours we rarely see other vehicles on the lanes we use to traverse the area. Over three days we will give you an insight from a different perspective of this famous battlefield, travelling in a small convoy of 5-6 vehicles, on tracks once trod by infantry.

Our newest three day tour starts just South of Albert and meanders North to Ypres, stopping off in Arras along the way. We tell you about The Battle of Arras, which is often overlooked, but at the end of 38 days of fighting in the spring of 1917, along a front stretching 20 kilometres from Vimy Ridge to the plain of Bullecourt, 300,000 personnel on both sides were listed as wounded, missing or dead. We then travel on to Ypres with many many sights, cemeteries and memorials along the way. In the evening we will attend the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate. This new tour has a bit of everything!

Over the three full days, we will visit many of the evocative and sometimes emotional sites that stand as a reminder of the human cost and horror experienced by those young Allied soldiers so many years ago. You’ll receive CB commentary as we drive along a mixture of tracks and roads, giving you an insight from a different perspective of this famous battle.
